Our client is a landscape design, construction and maintenance company based near Tonbridge in Kent and currently work throughout Kent and East Sussex. The team of dedicated professionals are on hand to provide customers with a one-stop horticultural service using horticultural ‘best practice’. They pride themselves in delivering well executed gardens with excellent attention to detail.
Our client spends 95% of their time working in the domestic market for high end customers. The company has grown primarily through word of mouth for over 20 years.
A great opportunity has become available for a gardener with a good level of plant knowledge and customer facing skills. The gardener will join the maintenance team working primarily in country gardens in the Sevenoaks, Tonbridge Wells and Cranbrook area.
Candidates will have good horticultural knowledge and plant identification skills. You will need to be experienced with a range of garden machinery and equipment as you will be expected to undertake duties including hedge cutting, lawn maintenance, pruning, planting, bed/border maintenance, and be willing to carry out a range of other gardening tasks as they arise. Spray ticket (PA1/PA6) are an advantage, and you will ideally be familiar with basic garden machinery maintenance.
Candidates must be physically fit and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. You must be reliable, punctual and able to work on your own or in a small team. Our client is also open to taking on a more junior candidate who is looking to start their career as a gardener and are willing to provide the required training and development. A keen interest in horticulture, a strong work ethic and a friendly attitude are the desired qualities from a candidate of this nature.
The working hours are 7.30 am – 4.30 pm with a half an hour lunch break. A full UK driving license is essential, as is your own car for travel to and from the yard. A competitive salary is provided depending on experience.
