Working For: Carlton Towers

Gardener Vacancy

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our gardening team here at Carlton Towers, to help tend and develop our gardens.

Carlton Towers is an historic stately home and one of Yorkshire’s premier wedding, corporate, film location and event venues, and we pride ourselves on offering a first-class experience for all our visitors – our grounds are an essential part of that offering.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and personable individual willing to apply themselves flexibly to a range of tasks, ensuring a high standard of presentation is maintained. The role will also include interaction with visitors, so you must be well presented and have good communication skills. The role will necessitate working outside in a range of weather conditions.

We have a small vineyard too, set within our walled garden, which is a unique space – an aesthetically pleasing garden for visitors, with vines, roses, fruit trees, blackcurrants and herbs. The role will also involve assisting in maintaining the vines and keeping this area looking good, for which full training will be given.

Across the year there will be a range of jobs, but at times there will be a concentration on the basic maintenance tasks of grass cutting, weeding, hedge trimming etc. We need someone willing and able to stick to such tasks, reliably and competently, working with an eye for detail and professionalism.

We are a small friendly team and with lots going on, Carlton Towers is a great place to work and gain experience. Please have a look at our website for further information http://carltontowers.co.uk
