Our client is a family-run business with over 20-years in the industry, offering a complete turnkey design, build and high-end garden care service.  Their portfolio ranges from residential gardens to high-end commercial properties.  Services offerings include design and build of nationwide projects as well as regular creative care and maintenance on local sites.  Due to continued expansion, an experienced Project Manager from a landscaping and/or construction background is needed to help take the company forward and to ensure management of new and existing contracts/commissions.

The company are passionate about designing, creating and maintaining gardens which will mature each season and be enjoyed for years to come.  The company work closely with our clients through every step of the design process to ensure each design meets the brief; keeping true to principles of function, form, scale and proportion to create unique and beautiful spaces.

As a Project Manager, the successful applicant will take responsibility for working closely with the Directors to take the teams to the next level and to help with increased profit levels by managing and overseeing projects up to a budget of £500,000.

Other key tasks and responsibilities of the successful Project Manager include:

  • Running a minimum of 3 small teams of landscapers and a small works team
  • Getting hands-on if required on specific projects
  • Ensuring projects come in on schedule and within budget
  • Preparing quotations and costings
  • Liaising with clients
  • Taking responsibility for weekly project meetings
  • Putting together order schedules, negotiating prices and placing orders
  • Taking responsibility for health and safety

This is a busy role which requires the successful candidate to plan and prioritise the scheduling and running of multiple jobs while ensuring that an excellent level of client care is maintained whilst working on improving overall efficiency. 

The successful Project Manager must have previous project management experience as well as practical hands on skills and experience of working on site in a similar environment.  Experienced project managers from a construction background will also be considered, in addition to those from a landscaping background.

Applicants must also have the following attributes:

  • Demonstrable project management experience in the landscape or construction sectors
  • Previous experience of successfully managing a team
  • Personable and approachable
  • Able to multi-task and work to a consistently high standard and to deadlines
  • Able to manage clients and deliver excellent customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn
  • Able to work well within a team
  • A full clean driving licence and access to own transport for commuting to and from work (a company van provided for client visits).

Desirable qualifications include a CSCS card, trailer licence, relevant Health & Safety qualification and relevant Project Management qualifications, though applicants without will be considered on experience.

Garden Maintenance Operative - Live In/Live Out - B901

Garden Maintenance Operative Required

Our client is a family-run business offering a complete turnkey design, build and garden maintenance service.  Their high-quality portfolio of work ranges from residential gardens to high-end commercial properties.  Services offerings include design and build of nationwide projects as well as regular creative maintenance on local sites. 

The new Garden Maintenance Operative will work alongside a friendly team and will carry out regular maintenance visits to existing clients; managing their gardens while working to ensure consistently high standards in line with the company ethics.

The successful candidate must have good horticultural knowledge and previous experience in a similar role, i.e. general garden maintenance. Candidates must be flexible, able to multi-task and to manage clients’ expectations with a positive attitude.  This will be a busy role which requires good attention to detail at all times, an ability to deliver excellent customer service and to work well within a strong team.

A full clean driving licence and access to own transport is essential for travel to and from work (a company van is provided for client visits).  Applicants must have experience with a range of garden machinery and tools (hedge cutters, mowers, strimmers, blowers etc.) and be physically fit.

If required, shared accommodation is available in the farmhouse at £400/month with all bills and internet etc. included.  This position is therefore open to candidates currently living outside commutable areas, as well as to candidates already living locally.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their overall skills within a close-knit team.  An opportunity to progress and manage your own garden maintenance round will be available for the right candidate.
